The 2010 Restoration Trade Fair & Fundraiser is seeking participants—experienced tradesmen and artisans knowledgeable in using their skills to restore historic structures.

We’re gearing up for our annual one-day Restoration Trade Fair & Fundraiser again, slated for Sunday, September 19th, at Luther Burbank School, and are seeking participants! For two subsequent years, the RTF has reached 600+ homeowners living in historic districts in and around the Long Beach area. For our forthcoming fair on Sunday, September 19th, we’re seeking experienced tradesmen and artisans knowledgeable in using their skills to restore historic structures. In addition to our current vendors, we’d like to include specialists in tile, tile repair, period glass, decorative arts, wrought iron, sheet metal/copper, masonry, plaster and cabinetry.

We’ve received raves from many of the participants from previous years, all attesting that this was a must-do event for them, and the result was heightened visibility for the businesses and services, as well as viable customer and project leads.

“I get loads of contacts from the event”, Barbara Paul of Barbara Paul Landscape Designs. Good Home Construction’s owner, Chuck Kensicki raved how he got “many of his best projects last year” from the Restoration Trade Fair. Recently he shared that homeowners they met at last year’s fair, “signed, got their dream kitchen, and Cottages and Bungalows magazine included it kitchen in the current issue. What a success story!! The fair is truly an invaluable resource all around - for homeowners and trades people like us.” Chad Gingher of Coastal Paints adds, “I feel a part of a larger community of businesses that wants to restore Long Beach.”

This year’s theme is a “1910 Fair” with period costumes, music and spoken work. Please consider applying to be a vendor or sign-up for e-blasts as we approach the event date. Contact: info@rpna-tradefair or call 562-219-3516 to determine eligibility.

2009 Restoration Trade Fair & Fundraiser Slated For

Sunday, June 28th 9am-4pm
At Luther Burbank Elementary School, Long Beach

Several vendors and homeowners expressed the benefits of the 2008 Restoration Trade Fair. So, once again Rose Park Neighborhood Association with the graciousness of Luther Burbank Elementary will host the 2009 Restoration Trade Fair. It promises to be for fun and informative as last year for all you folks that want to cherish and maintain your historic and vintage homes.

This is a one-day, one-stop event to help homeowners in Historic Districts restore and refurbish their homes. As we had in 2008, fifty (50) specialty vendors are expected, all knowledgeable in The City of Long Beach's historic guidelines, plus guest speakers, classes, and exhibits throughout the day. This year's theme is "Do it Yourself/Do it With Help", which means: workshops, workshops, workshops! Also, this year, we'll feature onsite food and more entertainment! Check out current workshops by clicking on Event, select Schedule.

This year we have perfect prizes in our opportunity drawing. Benjamin Moore Paints will be providing "Paint, to Paint your Whole House" (exterior, there are some provisos!) And Barbara Paul, of Barbara Paul Landscape Designs will be offering an "Entire Landscape Design for your Home" (again there are some limits!).

The event is a fundraiser for the RPNA (a 501c non-profit organization). You'll be able to see our efforts thus far at the "Garden of the Mind" exhibit. The event is Free to RPNA members and all children under 18; $5 for all others. Parking is free.

Go to www.rpna-tradefair.org for more information - and sign up to receive news and updates as we get closer to the event!

We look forward to your joining us at this annual event.
